Pulled BVQ Lettuce Wraps

Ingredients

    • 1 package Barvecue Pulled BVQ

    • 1 carrot, matchstick cut 

    • 1/2 cup purple cabbage, shredded 

    • butter lettuce, leaves separated 

    • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped 

    • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped

    • 1/2 cup soy sauce

    • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar 

    • 1 tbsp brown sugar 

    • 1/8 cup green onion 

    • 1/2 garlic clove 

    • 1/8 tsp minced ginger 

    • 1/2 tbsp maple syrup 

    • 2 tbsp slurry (1 tbsp water + 1 tbsp cornstarch) to help the sauce thicken

      1. Whisk all sauce ingredients (except slurry) together in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Strain after 12 minutes of reducing. Add back into the  saucepan over heat.

      2. In a separate small sealed container, make slurry by mixing 1 tbsp water with 1 tbsp  cornstarch. Add slurry to the saucepan with strained sauce. Whisk to combine.  Simmer for 8-10 minutes, until the sauce has thickened. Set aside.

      1. In a large skillet, cook Pulled BVQ according to package instructions. Remove from heat.

      2. Mix in 2 tbsp of the sauce with the Pulled BVQ, then save the remaining sauce for topping your wraps.

      3. 2. Assemble lettuce wraps by scooping Pulled BVQ mixture into lettuce leaves and topping with vegetables and cilantro. Drizzle with more sauce if desired.
